Boyk Law’s Intake Specialists Help Direct You Along Your Case
Charles Boyk Law is contacted daily by people who have been injured, or wronged and are going through some of the toughest times of their lives. Their first contact with our law office is typically with one of our Intake Specialists. These knowledgeable, and compassionate people are your first step toward recovery. They listen to the callers explain the terrible things that have happened to them, and then they ask how our office can help.
“When the client calls in, we start by gathering the information to provide to an attorney,” says Intake Specialist, Tori Hinton. “You have to ask a lot of sensitive questions, which sometimes is a bit difficult.”
The Intake Specialists are initially looking for preliminary information, including what happened and the exact dates of the injury. Their follow-up questions provide a complete view of what happened and determine the course of action. If it’s a motor vehicle accident, they will also retrieve the police report.
“We get a general overview of your situation, your case, and your experience, to determine if we would be a good fit for what you need,” says Molly Scott, a key member of Boyk Law’s team of Intake Specialists. “If you are at that point, of course, we schedule you for a consultation, to speak with the attorney directly, to go over legal options in more detail.”
“It really just comes down to asking a lot of questions,” says Tori, “and making people feel comfortable enough to provide you with that information. Those questions are important because we don’t want to waste their time. Sometimes a statute of limitation comes into effect, sometimes our firm isn’t the right one to help them… If we don’t ask the right questions from the get-go, it just prolongs the process of finding help for them, whether it be us or someone else.”
“When you search online for an attorney, you don’t always get the kind you need,” says Molly Scott. “So, we get calls related to landlord/tenant law, real estate law, probate law, and different kinds of legal cases from all across the spectrum.”
“If it’s something that our office doesn’t assist with,” says Tori, “we provide references or referrals to other attorneys who specialize in those cases. They are trusted partners that we have a relationship with. We know how they do business and the kind of people they are. So, when we refer clients, we refer them to someone we trust.”
That directive comes from Chuck Boyk, who wants to be your lawyer for life. He tells his clients to call us, even if it is a legal case that we typically won’t handle. He has instructed our staff to help you find the resources you need.
Intake Specialist Valentin Ornelas says, “I had a caller recently who said her family always works with Mr. Boyk. And she said, ‘I think he can handle every kind of case that I have; and I’ve called him for everything.’ If we don’t help her personally, we usually point her in the right direction. That’s why she keeps calling.”
Our team of Intake Specialists plays a pivotal role for our clients and our firm. “The job is rewarding, stressful, and emotional,” says Tori Hinton. “I love doing it because I love to help people, get to an attorney in our office, or direct them to the resources they need and guide them onto the right path.”

Intaker Specialist Tips for Calling an Attorney
– Collect the date and other information about the accident and any medical treatment.
– Document everything, everything, no matter how important you think it is or isn’t.
– Take photos and video at the accident scene, showing damage and the vehicles involved.
– Whenever possible, have the person who was injured or involved in the incident contact the office. If calling for someone who is severely injured, gather as many facts as possible.
– FYI – Charles Boyk Law also has Intake Specialists who speak Spanish.
