Safe Thanksgiving Driving: Don’t Be In A Rush!
With a large amount of Americans hitting the road this Thanksgiving season, it can be a peak time for accidents.
More than 43.6 million Americans will be traveling at least 50 or more miles this weekend. In order to keep the roads safe, it is important to remember a few things: Always buckle up, obey traffic signals, follow the speed limit, don’t text and drive and NEVER drink a drive!
Be alert and cautious while on the road and remember this weekend is about family. You will get where you are going eventually so speeding and driving erratically will not make you get there any faster.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, red light running kills more than 600 people a year and injures 100,000. Speeding contributes to 31% of all fatal crashes and in 2010 10,395 people were killed in speeding-related crashes.<
These are shocking statistics.
Our office would like to remind you and your family to stay safe this holiday season!
