Man Injured At St. Marys Factory
The Accident
At around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22nd, a worker at a St. Marys factory was taken via medical helicopter to St. Rita’s Medical Center.
A handling mishap occurred when stamping die was being transferred in the facility. Specifics of the accident are not yet available, but the accident was described as a Level 1 Trauma by the dispatcher.
Press die is a component of a stamping press, which is a metalworking machine tool. The stamping press is used to cut metal and shape it by deforming it with a die. A stamping die is a specialized tool within that.
