Man Injured At St. Marys Factory

The Accident

At around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22nd, a worker at a St. Marys factory was taken via medical helicopter to St. Rita’s Medical Center.

A handling mishap occurred when stamping die was being transferred in the facility. Specifics of the accident are not yet available, but the accident was described as a Level 1 Trauma by the dispatcher.

Press die is a component of a stamping press, which is a metalworking machine tool. The stamping press is used to cut metal and shape it by deforming it with a die. A stamping die is a specialized tool within that.

Legal Issues Arising From This Accident

Although the injuries of the factory worker have not been released, he will most likely be unable to return to work for a certain amount of time. In the event of an inability to work, he can file a workers’ compensation claim.

The Ohio Workers’ Compensation system can be very complicated and overwhelming, which is why a workers’ compensation lawyer is recommended for guidance.
