According to Reedy, the bus driver was using his cell phone while behind the wheel despite the icy conditions on the Wheeler County interstate. While distracted by his cell phone, the driver lost control of the bus and it began to roll over. As a result of the impact, Reedy sustained serious injuries to her head, neck, and back.
