Failure To Yield Ends In Fatality

A Luckey man was killed on Sunday evening on Duff Washa Road after he failed to stop at a stop sign. The pickup that 55-year-old Richard Hayward was driving was hit by an oncoming pickup truck, according to authorities.

At the time of the accident, Hayward was not wearing a seatbelt and he was thrown from his pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the second pickup was 51-year-old John Sutton of Oak Harbor. He was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo where his condition is unknown at this time. Sutton also had a passenger in the pickup truck but their name and condition is not confirmed either.

This accident was caused by Hayward’s failure to stop at the stop sign. Instead, he pulled his pickup truck into the path of Sutton’s truck, causing this fatal accident. With the details that were presented by The News Messenger, the car accident lawyers at our office believe that the driver at fault in this accident would be Richard Hayward. This means that Sutton and his passenger would be able to file a claim for the injuries that they sustained in the accident.

It seems as though Sutton and his passenger have legitimate personal injury claims, although we are not sure what the extent of their injuries are at this time. We would advise both Sutton and the unnamed passenger to contact an attorney soon, as a case like this could possibly become complicated if an attorney is not able to help with the beginning stages of the claim.

Our team of attorneys and legal staff even answer questions over the phone, as well as give free case evaluations. Call today to get your personal injury claim started!
