Failure To Yield Ends In Fatality
A Luckey man was killed on Sunday evening on Duff Washa Road after he failed to stop at a stop sign. The pickup that 55-year-old Richard Hayward was driving was hit by an oncoming pickup truck, according to authorities.
At the time of the accident, Hayward was not wearing a seatbelt and he was thrown from his pickup truck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the second pickup was 51-year-old John Sutton of Oak Harbor. He was flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo where his condition is unknown at this time. Sutton also had a passenger in the pickup truck but their name and condition is not confirmed either.
This accident was caused by Hayward’s failure to stop at the stop sign.
Instead, he pulled his pickup truck into the path of Sutton’s truck, causing this fatal accident.
