Don’t End Up In This Situation: Be Safe Driving In The Blizzard
On Saturday afternoon, a 22-year-old woman, Robbie Kilen, was driving on Us 224 when she lost control of her vehicle. She was driving westbound on the snow and ice-covered road when she went off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole.
Thankfully, Kilen was wearing a seat belt. The pole she hit was sheared off halfway and a portion of US 224 was shut down for several hours.
Kilen has been given a citation for operation without reasonable control.
This accident serves as a reminder to drivers as the blizzard-like conditions roll into our area.
Safe Driving in the Snow and Ice
As you read above, although snow and ice played a major role in the one-vehicle accident above, the driver is still held responsible.
It is imperative for drivers to know that if they are the cause of an accident during the blizzard-like conditions we will be experiencing the next couple of days; they will be considered at-fault.
You cannot blame an accident on Mother Nature, but a driver instead.
