Attacks in the Spring and Summer

Now is the time of year in which more dog bite attacks occur as the weather gets warmer and more dogs and people are spending time outside. Also, if a dog is not spayed or neutered, it may act differently because it is breeding season. Female dogs roam the yards and streets while males may jump at any opportunity to procreate.

Prevent Dog Bite Attacks

Dog bite attacks can easily be prevented by the owner. In terms of letter carrier attacks, the owner should confine the dog when the mail is delivered, especially if the dog has shown previous signs of aggression. Owners should also maintain fences and latches so dogs are not able to escape.

Owners are legally responsible for harm that their dog causes to another individual. It is important to ensure that as an owner, a person does everything they can to prevent such occurrences.
