DANGER: Graco Car Seats Recalled
DANGER: Graco Car Seats Recalled

It has recently been announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a recall has been issued on 3.8 million Graco car safety seats. The recall was spurred due to the fact that a child was trapped in the seat.

Recalled Graco Car Safety Seats

The types of seats that were recalled include the below models:

  • Cozy Cline
  • Comfort Sport
  • Classic Ride 50
  • My Ride 65
  • My Ride with Safety Surround
  • My Ride 70
  • Size 4 Me 70
  • Smartseat
  • Nautilus
  • Nautilus Elite
  • Argos 70

It has been reported that the buckles on the car safety seats may not unlatch.

This makes it hard to remove a child from the seat, which can be very dangerous in the event of a crash or fire, further increasing the risk for injury.

The National Highway Safety Administration has received more than 80 reports about the Graco car safety seats that have been recalled.

An investigation into the issue remains open at this time. According to the NHTSA, the investigation be open “pending [the NHTSA’s] evaluation of the Graco recall and until the Agency’s consideration of the review of the 7 remaining seat models is completed.”

Those parents who own this recalled car seat can receive a replacement harness buckle at no cost. The car seat company has released in a statement that “Graco would like to stress this does not in any way affect the performance of the car seat or the effectiveness of the buckle to restrain the child.

” The company can be contacted online, or by phone at 800.345.4109.

Readers should be aware that this car seat recall affects 11 different Graco models sold between 2009 and 2013.
