Beanworthy Recalls Combination Battery Chargers/Hand Warmers Due to Fire and Burn Hazard

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall of about 12,700 “Beanworthy Human Creations” combination battery charges and hand warmers.  The devices are used to recharge cell phones, tablets, and other electronic devices that have a USB  port.

It has been reported that the chargers can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

Where Were the Chargers Made?

The products were manufactured by Sheenzhen Olive Technology Co. Ltd of China and sold online through Amazon from October 2015 through February 2016.

Purchasers being advised to immediately stop using the products.

Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually.  Fires and injuries associated with lithium-ion batteries is on the rise.
