7 Days Of 7 Different Types Of Compensatory Damages – Day 1

Day 1
Loss of Income:
If your injuries prevent you from working and in turn cause you to lose income or lose income because of missed work due to your treatment, you can be awarded Compensatory damages. If the injury is serious enough that you can no longer perform the duties of your job you can sue for loss of future earnings capacity.

If the accident results in death, a family member can sue on behalf of the deceased for any lost income that the deceased would have earned based on the work-life expectancy of the deceased.

Future earnings are discounted to present value and therefore reduces the total amount awarded
