3 Seriously Injured In Groton Township Crash

An accident on Sunday has left 3 people seriously injured, including one teen.

The crash happened at the intersection of SR 99 and Strecker Road. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Janet Wahl, 61, was eastbound on Strecker when she failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of SR 99. As she pulled out on the road, she drove into the path of a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old boy.

The boy and his passenger, 39-year-old Lisa Coey, were taken from the scene to a nearby hospital with injuries that were described as incapacitating.

Ms. Wahl was taken from the scene by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
