1 In 3 Kids Hurt While Playing Sports

A survey has shown that about 1 in 3 children who play sports will need some sort of medical attention due to injuries that they sustained while on the court or field.

These injuries are things like concussions, broken bones, and dehydration. Concussions and dehydration being major injuries as concussions can cause serious health issues later in life.

Dehydration is also very serious because if the body does not receive the proper of amount of fluids it can lead to serious health complications including death.

There are a few safety precautions that can be taken to help reduce the risk of your child experiencing an injury. The first is to make sure all of the children who are playing stay hydrated. Drinking enough water is so important and dehydration is an easy thing to prevent.

Another tip to follow is to make sure that all participants are wearing the proper safety gear and that it fits appropriately. Also, encourage your kids to drink plenty of water the day BEFORE any prolonged sports activity. This will greatly reduce the risk of injury and possibly even death.
