Attorneys Chuck Boyk & Mike Bruno Celebrate 40 Years In Law
It was November 1983, when Chuck Boyk and Mike Bruno received notice that they passed the bar and were licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. Although they didn’t know each other well, their legal careers followed similar paths.
Mike Bruno graduated from Sylvania High School and then Ohio University. Chuck Boyk grew up in West Toledo, graduating from Start High School and got his degree from Bowling Green State University.
Mike was a member of the speech team at Sylvania High, and on the debate team at Ohio U. Chuck Boyk excelled on the debate team at Start High
School and in college at Bowling Green.
Mike interned with the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office and then worked as a bailiff in the Common Pleas Court while attending Law School at the University of Toledo at night.
Chuck attended UT Law School as well during the daytime session and interned with the Perrysburg Prosecutor’s Office.
Upon graduation, Mike went to work in the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, where he prosecuted hundreds of cases including two death penalty murder trials.
Chuck Boyk began representing his own clients while sharing office space with local attorneys. He gained invaluable experience. In his early career, Chuck primarily handled criminal defense cases, but he also began assisting personal injury clients and realized how much he could help them.
Mike Bruno left the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office to take a position with the law firm of Doyle, Lewis & Warner, where he represented insurance and railroad companies.
It was twenty years ago when Mike and Chuck met for lunch to discuss working together. Soon afterward, Mike joined Chuck in practice and began serving individual clients instead of corporations.
Their personalities and professional skills complemented each other well and created the foundation of a very successful relationship. Through their efforts, Charles Boyk Law Offices have grown to include 11 offices in Ohio and Michigan, serving thousands of satisfied personal injury, worker’s compensation, and medical malpractice clients across the region.
