Ohio's leading drunk driver gets 16 years in prison

A Barberton man was sentenced Tuesday to 16 ½ years in state prison for his 19th and 20th drunken-driving offenses. Jess R. Brown, 51, has the worst drunken-driving record in Ohio so ``it's only fair and fitting that you receive the worst sentence,' Summit County Common Pleas Judge Patricia Cosgrove said. Brown, dressed in a bright orange jail outfit, stared at the ground through most of his sentencing. He attempted to withdraw his guilty plea at the beginning of the hearing, saying he hadn't been adequately represented.
