Worker severs finger, firm fined | Toledo Ohio workers compensation lawyer

A plastic manufacturer is being prosecutes after one of its employees severed a finger in an accident while on the job.

The worker, who was employed by DuBois Ltd, was working at their factory when his finger got trapped in the rotating dial of a color dosing unit. This is a machine that will add the color to plastic.

His finger, the left middle, was very badly injured and had to be amputated above the knuckle. On top of this he had to go through ten months of physiotherapy. He was unable to return to work for several weeks.

Through the investigation it was found that the safety guard which would prevent workers from contacting the machine, was removed. Dubois Ltd was  fined for this incident.
