Warren man killed after semi hits truck with no lights

Our thoughts go out to the family of Russell Florida, a 47-year-old man who was killed in a fatal car accident involving two semi trucks yesterday on the Ohio Turnpike.

According to the Toledo Blade, Mr. Florida was driving a semi-truck when he collided with another semi-truck that did not have its lights on. The other truck was stopped on the right side of the Ohio Turnpike’s westbound lane in Fulton County near milepost 37 and did not have its lights on due to a mechanical failure.

The impact of the crash took the life of Mr. Florida, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the parked truck, Charles Simons, 61, of East Northport, N.Y., and passenger, John Adams III, 50, of Granite City, IL were not injured. Mr. Florida is from Warren.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Mr. Florida, as they mourn the loss of their loved one and navigate through the process of an Ohio wrongful death claim.
