Tickets Are Being Issued for Construction Zone Speeding and Other Violations | Toledo, Ohio Car Accident Lawyer

Work Zones are a dangerous area, especially the construction zone on I-475 in Toledo. On one shift last week, Sergeant Albert Papenfus of the Toledo Police wrote nine tickets to drivers speeding in the construction zone. All of these drivers were driving over 68 mph, and the work zone speed limit is 50 mph. Not only is this dangerous, but speeding is an expensive choice as well. Work zone fines are doubled, thus a driver speeding up to 19 mph over the limit receives a $178 citation, while speeding up from 20-29 mph over the posted speed limit is a hefty $258 fine.

These nine citations are not included in the other 368 tickets issued for various reasons including speeding, tailgating, and unsafe lane-switching. These all occurred between September 10th of last year and up to March 26th of this year.  Next time think before speeding in a work zone or at all. It could save a life and some money.
