The first case to be tried in the Yaz litigation will still be a  pulmonary embolism. This has not changed , but there have been some changes in the Yaz trials. The amendment that judge Hernondon ordered will reduce the amount of cases subject to discovery from 50 to 24.  Out of the 24 cases 12 will be chosen from each side. This will not change the end result of the cases.

Also changing in the case is that each party will get two strikes and from that the court will select a lead case and two back up cases. The court will then have 6 cases from which to choose a gall bladder case from and 14 from which to choose a PE and VTE.
