Pistachio Recall: Don’t Crack That Nut!

Western Mixers Produce & Nut Company has recalled their Treasured Harvest Pistachios due to a potential salmonella contamination. The result of the salmonella can be fatal infections, including symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In certain cases, the salmonella infection can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and causing arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.

The contaminated pistachios were distributed in various sizes with the following package and Lot numbers:

  • 6 oz. Clear Plastic Cup of Treasured Harvest pistachios, Roasted & Salted flavor with Lot numbers 123050, 123140, 123320, 123450, 123360, 130150, 130240, 130350
  • 12 oz. Clear Bag of Treasured Harvest pistachios, Roasted & Salted flavor, Lot number 130290
  • 28 oz. Clear Plastic Tray of Treasured Harvest pistachios, Roasted & Salted flavor, Lot numbers 123100, 122960, 123040

The pistachios were recalled voluntarily by Western Mixers as the company attempts to protect the public from the possible salmonella contamination. There has been no salmonella found in any of the products at this time, but the proper steps are being taken in the event that there is.

Those who have purchased the above products are told to return them for a full refund. If you have consumed the above pistachios and have experienced health issues as a result, call our Ohio products liability claims attorneys at 800.637.8170.
