Ohio Teen Killed in Turnpike Crash

Ohio Turnpike Accident

A 15-year-old girl was killed in a crash on the Ohio Turnpike Thursday afternoon.

An SUV carrying seven people was westbound when the driver lost control on the wet pavement. The vehicle then went off the side of the road, struck an embankment, and flipped. While it was flipping, the 15-year-old girl was thrown from the third row.

All seven people in the vehicle were transported to Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights. The 15-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the hospital while the other 6 individuals have non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the family of the young girl killed in the accident. We know how difficult this type of accident can be for a family. We also hope all other occupants’ recovery quickly from their injuries.
