On Saturday an accident in Williams County left on Ohio State Trooper injured after being hit by an impaired driver.

According to the report, Trooper Gale Horn was traveling southbound on State Route 576 when Nathan Rios, 25, ignored a stop sign at County Road R and drove into the left rear corner of Trooper Horn's vehicle. After the impact, Rios; vehicle continued off the road and landed in a ditch on the top of the car while Trooper Horn spun off the side of SR 576 and came to rest in the ditch.

Both Rios and his passenger were treated at the scene for minor injuries while Trooper Horn was taken to Bryan Hospital for the treatment of injuries that are being described as minors.

Rios was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired and failure to stop at a stop sign.
