Our Toledo, Ohio child accident lawyers have recently filed a case in the Wood County Court of Common Pleas after a 3-year-old child sustained injuries while visiting his sister at her elementary school.  

Our client and his mother exited the school building and while standing outside of the building, the 3-year-old boy was struck by a metal object that propelled from a lawnmower that was being operated on the school grounds.  When the metal object struck him it immediately forced his legs out from underneath him and he fell to the ground landing on his face.  He was taken to the Wood County Hospital Emergency Room where he was examined, x-rays were taken and twelve sutures were applied to his right leg and six butterfly stitches on his left leg.  Our client was released into his mother's care and advised to follow up with a physician to have the sutures removed in approximately 10 days.  

His mother took our client for follow-up visits with his primary care physician, the sutures were removed, and he was treated for an infection in the lacerated areas.  

Due to the severity of the lacerations and the potential scarring, the boy was evaluated by a plastic surgeon.  At the time of his examination, the plastic surgeon discussed with the boy's mother that the scars will remain raised and red for some time, but that luckily no plastic surgery intervention was necessary at this time.

Not only has our client suffered physical injury to his legs, he now has a fear of lawn mowers and is afraid to go outside when he hears one running.
