Elevator wrongful death

On December 14th 2011 crews were working on an elevator in an office building. During their repairs they overrode the safety system so that they could have access to the elevator. The workers completed their task and left the building. Moments later Suzanne Hart stepped into the elevator. As she did this the elevator jumped upward with its doors open, crushing Suzanne between floors.

The elevator crew failed to re-enable the safety device whne they allowed the elevator to resume service, and they also violated code by not posting that the elevator was undergoing repairs.
