National Safety Month is in full swing now and the National Safety Council has shared daily tips for next week, June 24 – June 28. By taking notice to the below daily tips, you can improve your health and wellness at work and at home.
Daily Tips to Improve Ergonomics:
Monday, June 24th – Ergonomics involves designing the job environment to fit the person and is important to take into consideration at work and home.
Tuesday, June 25th – When working, give your eyes a rest and periodically take time to close them for a minute at a time and then focus on an object at least 20 feet away.
Wednesday, June 26th – Symptoms of some ergonomic issues include tingling, numbness, pain, swelling and loss of grip strength.
Thursday, June 27th – Stretching should be gentle and controlled, not painful. Breathe deeply when you hold your stretch.
Friday, June 28th – Stretching periodically throughout the day can reduce sprains, strains, and your risk of ergonomic injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome or tendonitis.
Do you have a job in which you remain seated at a desk for prolonged periods of time? Do you perform the same repetitive motion while on the job site? Over time, these movements can cause your body harm. It is important to be conscious of your body, perform regular stretches and exercises, and take other preventative measures to prevent future issues.
