Construction zone lawsuit | Toledo Ohio worker's compensation lawyer

A lawsuit was recenty settled that involved a highway contruction zone incident and two injured workers. The lawsuit stems from an incident in December of 2009. On that day a 24-year-old driver of a Sara Lee truck was traveling on U.S. 31 in an active construction zone where the speed limit was 35 mph. The driver of the truck was going 65 mph and wad not being attentive to the road conditions. He failed to observe that a contruction truck, which was parked in accordance with regulations. The construction truck had activated the flashing amber strobe lights. The impact of the collision caused the truck to hit and injure two workers who were near the truck.

One of the workers who was hit was a 22-year-old from Mexico who came to the U.S. to work and support his family. As a result of his injuries one of his legs had to be amputated below the knee.

The other worker was a 26-year-old husband and father to a three-year-old son. This you man's leg was crushed as well and hos leg had to be amputated above the knee. His spleen was also removed, which destroyed his ability to fight off desease and infection. He has not been able to work since the accident and most likely will have great difficulty finding future employment.
