Data Shows CNA's at High Risk for Work-Related Injuries
The numbers are in and the research shows that more than 60% of all certified nursing assistants (CNA's) experience some sort of work-related injury during their career. The injuries range from cuts and injuries to the back, to black eyes, and even human bites. These injuries can be contributed to the lifting, bathing and handling of residents in the nursing home and in other care facilities.
It is important that those who are injured while on the job receive fair compensation. A side from the workers' health, work-related injuries can negatively impact job satisfaction, contributes to shortages and affects the overall care provided by the CNAs. This in turn may lead to disgruntled residents, an unhappy situation all around.
