The question presented is this: what is the best treatment for neck pain?

Many people are suffering from neck pain today. We certainly do see a lot of it here at The Charles Boyk Law Offices. People come in after being in a car accident and are suffering from neck pain. The solution? Drugs do help to ease the pain, but in a recent study done, it was found that chiropractic help and exercise are the best treatments for neck pain.

The study did a head-to-head comparison of various treatments for neck pain. Even a year later, there were differences between the spinal manipulation group and the medication group.

Dr. Bonfort and colleagues took a large group of adults with neck pain. The researchers then split them into three large groups and followed them for three months. One group made visits to the chiropractor, the second took common pain releievers (in some cases, narcotics and muscle relaxants were used) and the third group received instructions and did at home exercises.

After these 12 weeks, 57% of those that met with chiropractors and 48% of those who did the exercises reported at least 75% pain reduction. Only 33% of the medication group reported a 75% pain reduction.
