Changes Proposed for Dog Warden | Toledo Ohio dog bite lawyer

An oversight panel composed of local citizens has proposed new guidelines for the Lucas County Dog Warden's office. The panel submitted 15 ways the office could improve both public safety and animal welfare.

Among these 15 suggestions is one that recommends collection, retrieval and sharing of dog statistics. The number of dog bites that occur would be included in those statistics.

Another recommendation calls for a reduction in the number of dog bites in Lucas County. The panel would like the number of bites to decrease by 10 percent every year for the next five years.

The panel also suggests better public safety education, which would include classes in elementary schools and maternity wards about the dangers of some dogs. Public service announcements on the radio and on TV were also included in this recommendation.

The lawyers at the Charles E. Boyk Law Offices have seen too many lives disrupted by dog bites, and we are happy to see these new suggestions come to light. If you or a loved one has suffered a dog bite, call our Toledo Ohio dog bite attorneys to set up your free case evaluation and to receive your free copy of The Ohio Dog Bite Book.
