A jury recently awarded a $10,702,449 to Brady Foret for a work related incident that occurred in 2009. Foret, a derrick hand for Key Energy Services. In the summer of 2008 Key Energy sent a mobile workover rig to Steart & Stevenson for refurbishment of the mast. After the work was completed, the rig was sent back to Key Energy. On its third day of use the Plaintiff was working 85 feet above ground when the rig experienced a collpase and Brady fell to the ground.
Upon investigation it was found that the rig only had two of the four safety pins. Mr. Forte suffered massive bodily and othopaedic injuries and a closed head injury.
