’06, ’07 Trailblazers Under Probe

Federal safety regulators are now investigating the 2006 and 2007 Chevy TrailBlazers for driver’s side door fires. Just last week Toyota Camry and RAV4 were being investigated for the same occurrence. So far none of the vehicles under investigation have been recalled. The safety agency is trying to see if there is a link to the suppliers of the switchers, but so far neither company has told who the company is that supplies the part.

So far there have been 12 complaints for the Trailblazer having smoke or fire occur in the passenger side door. No one has been reported injured and no vehicle has been destroyed from the fires at this time. The Buick Ranier, GMC Envoy, and Saab 9-7X have the same power switches in their doors, but there have not been any reports about them yet. Both Chevy and Toyota are said to be cooperating with the investigation.
